Heather received her Ed.M. & MA in counseling psychology from Columbia University in 2010. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist and Sex Therapist Supervisor. She is also an certified EMDR therapist through the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA), and a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional with Postpartum Support International. 

Heather works with individuals and couples struggling with pelvic/sexual pain conditions, infertility, low sexual desire, trauma (including birth trauma, medical trauma, sexual trauma and critical incident trauma in first responders), anxiety and burnout syndrome. She tailors her approach based on her clients’ therapy goals and needs, often utilizing EMDR Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy. As a couples therapist she also integrates Gottman Method.

Heather is also the author of Effective Treatment of Women’s Pelvic and Sexual Pain Disorders: Healing the Body and the Mind During the #MeToo Era (Routledge, 2023), and the co-author of Master Conflict Therapy: A New Model for Practicing Couples & Sex Therapy (Routledge, 2018).
